Southbrook Vineyards is excited to announce the opening of Farmers’ Table @ Southbrook, serving weekend lunches and custom dining events under the direction of Executive Chef Shawn Murphy.   Chef Shawn brings his passion and experience to create a menu in line with Southbrook’s own philosophies of local and sustainable practices and The Redelmeier family’s decades of farming experience.

Farmers’ Table @ Southbrook is pleased to be offering a menu celebrating the best in local and seasonal ingredients, and highlighting the “whole farm” ethos of biodynamics.  Chef Shawn will be taking this opportunity to grow many different vegetables and herbs including: 30 different heirloom tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, peas, zucchini and more, all on Southbrook’s organically certified vineyard.

While restaurants typically pair food to wine, Chef Shawn draws his inspiration from Southbrook wines, and crafts the food to match.  Fans of Southbrook’s old bistro will feel right at home as the outside pizza oven will be fired up once again!  This year, the pizza dough will be made from Red Fife wheat flour and Bioflavia-an organic grape skin powder.  Together, these ingredients create a dough unlike any around that is both flavourful and healthy.

In addition, the menu will feature local cheese and charcuterie boards, salads and sandwiches.  Those looking for something more substantial will not leave disappointed as main course dishes will be prepared featuring local pasture-raised pork, free-range chicken and Southbrook lamb.  Farmers’ Table @ Southbrook will focus on creating dishes that bring together the flavours, quality, energy and input from local Niagara farmers.

Farmers’ Table @ Southbrook will be open all weekend from 11:30 am to 5pm.  Regular hours will be Thursday to Monday 11:30 am to 5pm until the Thanksgiving weekend.
