Calgary-based broadcaster, blogger and cookbook author Julie Van Rosendaal’s latest project is a collaboration with her good old friend Sue Duncan, and it’s all about getting you and me to eat more beans. Spilling The Beans: Cooking and Baking with Beans and Grains Everyday is as exhaustive on the subject as it is simultaneously elegant and straight forward. It’s also timely, as North Americans seek to diversify their diet towards a range of foods that are as good for their bodies as they are for the planet. Plus, on food nerd terms, it’s really cool and innovative. Van Rosendaal and Duncan made their case for more bean action in the kitchen in the video below, shot on a recent visit to Toronto.
