After seeing winemaker Matt Smith on stage at i4C 2023 last month presenting his excellent 2020 Cloudsley Cellars Foxcroft Chardonnay, I felt that I simply had to get him on GFR to talk about his stellar work there with vigneron Adam Lowy.

In this first segment of our chat, we speak about his rather unusual (and hugely fortuitous) winemaking journey, how he happened to meet Adam, in doing so becoming an integral part of the first two vintages for Cloudsley, and his thoughts around making wine with fruit from the Twenty Mile Bench.
