Toronto Restaurateur Nick Di Donato gives GFR the lowdown on his Food To Fight initiative which sees his Cibo chefs making food for Mount Sinai and Bridgepoint Active Healthcare health-care workers.

A veritable veteran of Toronto’s dining scene, Nick Di Donato and his Liberty Entertainment Group have weathered many a storm over the past three decades.

What with the aberrant pandemic’s impact upon the hospitality sector, Nick, in conjunction with his partners, has decided to utilise his Liberty Grand kitchens and staff to provide 500 daily meals for frontline health-care workers at Mount Sinai and Bridgepoint Active Healthcare in the city.

Calling his program Food To Fight, many Toronto businesses have already come forward to support this valuable program.

Nick also tells us just how his other establishments have pivoted to accommodate this “new normal” that we all find ourselves in, with Blueblood Steakhouse offering high-end meal delivery/pickup, and his Cibo Wine Bar concept (at both the King and Yonge locations) pivoting into physical and online marketplaces for prepared foods, ingredients, and household essentials.
